Table 2. In this session, we discuss the impact of three types of common roadblocks experienced by CES doctoral students, including (a) gaps in general research knowledge and skills; (b) lack of practical experience with specific research methods; and (c) challenges with transforming research idea into an actual study. Informed by our original research as well as experience mentoring doctoral students, we offer practical suggestions for counselor education programs to strengthen the research development of doctoral students.
