This session explores the use of positionality-conscious activism in counselor education research in response to global/national humanitarian crises (e.g., genocide in Gaza and the death of Nex Benedict). Positionality-conscious activism, grounded in anti-oppressive leadership frameworks, calls counselor education researchers to leverage their power and privilege to advocate with colleagues and peers, who face risk for speaking out against social injustice.
