Poster 12. Using phenomenological methodology, researchers explored the ways in which school counselors support the mental health needs of students with chronic illnesses. Participants report they, directly and indirectly, support students' mental health as part of the 504 team, engage in collaboration with other school professionals (I.e. school nurse, teachers, admin, etc) and parents, advocate, facilitate communication between home and school, and the varying competencies they disclose surrounding their knowledge of this population.
