Table 1. Although considerable attention has been given to the mental health benefits of religion and spirituality (R/S), practitioners still report feeling incompetent. Counselors-in-training feel significant duress about crossing ethical boundaries when broaching such topics. This presentation will provide an opportunity to dialogue about ways to address R/S topics while introducing the Revised Spiritual Competency Scale II (SCS-R-II) and Religious/Spiritually Integrated Practice Assessment Scale (RSIPAS). Results from research will be available to supplement the discourse.
